Niraja Gopal Jayal is a professor at the Center for the Study of Law and Governance at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, India. Her research focuses on the intersection of normative political theory and the empirical study of Indian politics. Her most recent book is Representing India (2005). While at Princeton, Jayal worked on a book project, an account of the Indian idea of citizenship in the twentieth century. Ph.D. Jawaharlal Nehru University.
